SCALE MATERIALS
Cellidor Cellidor is an organic, thermoplastic cellulose ester that incorporates a high proportion Classic,
of renewable natural cellulose material. Unlike traditional plastics, it is only partially Companion,
dependent on fossil fuels. Components made of Cellidor exhibit an exceptional high-gloss Swiss Card,
Ƃ nish with perfect depth effect. To improve abrasion and scratch-resistance, scales Evolution, Swiss
printed with a special promotional motif are treated with a protective coating. Army Knives MATERIALS
Max. usable temperature 65 °C.
Acrylonitrile Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene is an amorphous thermoplastic. ABS plastics exhibit Classic, Compan-
butadiene styrene excellent toughness, notched impact strength, impact strength, ƃ exural rigidity and ion, Swiss Card,
surface hardness. Evolution,

Polyamide Nylon is a term commonly used primarily in the U.S. to describe polyamides (PA). Workman,
Polyamides are suitable for pocket knife scales because they exhibit better mechanical Ranger Grip,
abrasion resistance. This also has beneƂ ts from a production perspective. Compared to Evolution Grip
high-gloss and smooth Cellidor components, they have a more structured surface.
Max. usable temperature 90 °C.
Aluminum Alox scales are punched from aluminum, embossed and then anodised in a subsequent Alox
process stage. The Eloxal process uses anodic oxidation to create a protective layer.
This layer of oxide is hard and protects the scales from damage and corrosion, up to a
certain degree.
Walnut wood Wood is a natural, renewable resource. The walnut wood used by Victorinox comes from Wood,
Swiss forests and is in full compliance with EU Regulation No. 995/2010 (the EU Timber Wine Master
Regulation). The wood of the walnut tree is very solid, tough and strong.
Olive wood Wood is a natural, renewable resource. The olive wood we use at Victorinox is sourced Wine Master
from Italy and complies with the EU Trading Regulation (EUTR) 995/2010 on timber.
The wood from the olive tree is very heavy and hard and has good density characteristics.
MATERIALS
Polypropylene Polypropylene exhibits good strength, rigidity and hardness. It is suitable for sterilisation Swiss Classic
and can be used at temperatures of up to 80 – 100 °C.
Thermoplastic TPE combine the easy processing of thermoplastics with the beneƂ cial properties of elasto- Swiss Classic
Elastomers mers. They are extremely ƃ exible over a wide range of temperatures, very strong and beneƂ t
from good impact and notch impact strength, even at low temperatures. TPE materials can
be used at temperatures of up to 80 – 110 °C.
