THE K-LOOP PROJECT
Respect forthe environment and traceability are the keywords for the K-loop and K-loop tracking
collections.
The key approach in this project is the use of recycled material as well as the concept of completely
transparent tracking of every step in a product’s creation for end consumers.
With “K-loop”, Kimood is closing the circular economy loop. This means that the fabrics used in
K-Loop products are made from production off-cuts from KARIBAN BRANDS products.
These off-cuts are sorted by colour and shredded to restore the original fibres. They are then mixed
with recycled polyester from plastic bottles, which makes the final product even stronger. The
main idea behind the K-Loop project is to reduce textile waste, recycling and thereclamation of raw
materials.
To ensure that this approach is transparent and verifiable, Kimood has worked on the possibility of
tracing these products from design to distribution.
THE TOTE BAG THAT HERALDED THE START OF THE K-LOOP PROJECT – KI5808
The KI5808 tote bag is the first item to be launched in the K-Loop collection and is made from cotton
left over from the manufacture of Kariban cotton t-shirts and polyester from recycled plastic bottles.
