De mate waarin een zonwering bescherming biedt tegen UV-straling wordt
uitgedrukt in UPF: Ultraviolet Protection Factor. Een UV-spectrometer meet hoeveel
UVB en UVA straling door het doek dringt. UPF 50+ betekent dat maximal 2% van de
schadelijke UV-straling door het materiaal dringt. Met andere woorden; jouw
Falcone® personal parasol blokkeert tenminste 98% van deze straling!
Weet wel dat geen enkele parasol jou volledig tegen UV-straling kan beschermen.
Luchtdeeltjes weerkaatsen zonnestralen waardoor UV-straling in beperkte mate
altijd jouw huid kan bereiken.

The extent to which a sunshade protects from UV radiation is expressed in UPF:
Ultraviolet Protection Factor. A UV spectrometer measures how much UVB and UVA
radiation permeates a fabric. UPF 50+ means a maximum of 2% of the harmful UV
radiation passes that material. In other words, your Falcone® personal parasol blocks at
least 98% of this radiation!
Keep in mind that no parasol can fully protect you from UV radiation. That’s because
sunshine is reflected by air particles, causing UV radiation to reach your skin even when
using a parasol.
