SAVING WATER

Kariwala Industreis Ldt was declared winner in the
SME category for its efforts to promote responsible
business practices in industrial water management.
The prize was awarded by the Indo-German
Chamber of Commerce at the Sustainability
Innovation Awards 2022.

The aim of the award is to highlight the innovative
solutions offered by companies assessed on
the basis of their management, economic,
environmental and social impact qualities.
However, it is also intended to raise awareness of
the importance of conserving and sustainably using
water in production processes.

The Kariwala factory has launched a project to
recycle the waste water used in the production of
our bags. The aim is to make the water reusable for
watering plantations, instead of dumping it down
the drain. This ultimately reduces water wastage
and preserves natural resources. By treating
and using wastewater, freshwater resources are
protected and the quantity of water discharged is
reduced, helping to minimise pollution and protect
aquatic ecosystems.
